COLUMBUS – The Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame announced its 2018 inductees, with Northern Kentucky women's basketball Deb (Elwer) Lindeman on the list of honorees. The organization has been inducting members since 2006, and celebrates the achievements of both male and female basketball players in high school, college and professional basketball, successful coaches on all levels and those who have impacted the game along the way.
Lindeman played for the Norse from 1979-83, helping NKU go 69-59 in that span. She amassed 705 points shooting at a .443 clip during her career, also recording 414 rebounds, 114 assists, 103 steals and 24 blocks. Lindeman was part of NKU's first NCAA Division II Tournament team in the 1981-82 season. The Norse went 23-6 overall and had its first all-time meeting with now-Horizon League foe Oakland, falling in a competitive 77-75 first-round game.
During her prep career at Delphos St. John's High School, Lindeman was known as "Miss Clutch," leading the team to a 74-1 record and three-straight trips to the state tournament. Lindeman was honored as the UPI Ohio Class AA Player of the Year in her junior and senior seasons, averaging 17.1 and 17.2 points per game, respectively. The Bluejays won two state titles, once in 1977 with a 61-40 victory over Mansfield St. Peter, and again in 1979 by way of a 57-53 win over Bishop Hartley. The Delphos St. John's state championship teams were inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
The 2018 induction ceremony will take place on May 5 in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in Columbus. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by the welcome and dinner before the ceremony begins at approximately 7:30 p.m. For those who wish to purchase tickets, please visit
