@NKUNorseWBB inks Samari Mowbray for 2017-18

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
– Northern Kentucky women's basketball added the seventh member of its 2017-18 signing class with Samari Mowbray, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Mason, Ohio.

"I'm so excited to add Samari to our incoming class," commented head coach Camryn Whitaker. "She brings length, athleticism, versatility and knows how to win, which is very important in our culture. Not only is she an offensive threat, Samari's ability to defend multiple positions is something our team needs, and I can't wait for her to get here and get started."

Mowbray was a four-year letterwinner for the Mason Comets, and was a three-time All-Greater Miami Conference honoree with first-team distinction during her senior campaign. During her time at Mason, the Comets went 90-14 and had a runner-up finish in the OHSAA Division I State Championship. As a senior, Mowbray averaged 14.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and was the District 15 Senior Player of the Year as well as an Ohio All-Star. In addition to her offensive firepower, Mowbray was also honored as the GMC Defensive Player of the Year.

Mowbray joins Chyna Anthony, Kailey Coffey, Jazmyne Geist, Reece Mungar, Grayson Rose and Grace White in the signing class, all of whom signed their National Letters of Intent in November.
