HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The 2017 Little Caesar's Horizon League Men's Basketball Champion Northern Kentucky Norse will host a watch party for the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, March 12. NKU cordially invites Norse Nation to the Student Union Ballroom for the CBS broadcast, which begins at 5:30 p.m. ET.
Doors to the ballroom open at 4:30 pm ET. Seating is limited to approximately 500 and is first-come, first-served. There will be a limited amount of standing room. Free parking is available in the Kenton Garage, adjacent to the Student Union.
Northern Kentucky earned the Horizon League title with a 59-53 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday night at historic Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
Lavone Holland II poured in a game-high 20 points and was named the tournament MVP.
Drew McDonald contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds for his team-leading 11
th double-double of the year. Both Holland and McDonald were named to the all-tournament team.
By virtue of winning the Horizon League Championship, NKU earned the League's automatic berth into the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. The Norse became just the seventh team in college basketball history and only the second since 1970 to earn a berth into the NCAA Championship in their first season eligible.
