INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky University placed 96 student-athletes on the Fall 2016 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, the League office announced Friday.
 
Northern Kentucky's 96 honor roll members helped the Norse post a department record 3.28 GPA. The fall term marked NKU's fifth-straight semester with at least a 3.20 GPA and the 11th-straight with at least a 3.0.
 
Additionally, in the Fall 2016 semester, a total of 22 NKU student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA, earning President's Honors recognition, while 72 percent of NKU's student-athletes (171 total) had at least a 3.0 GPA. Additionally, 62 individuals -approximately 27 percent of NKU student-athletes- were placed on the Dean's List.
 
In total, 984 Horizon League student-athletes earned honor roll distinction across all 19 League sponsored sports.
 
To qualify for the academic honor roll, student-athletes must have competed in the most recent or current season, completed at least three semesters as a full-time student at the same institution, and recorded a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
