Women's Cross Country Brad Pope, NKU Athletic Communicaitons

@NKUNorseXCTF hits the trail at Notre Dame

Notre Dame, Ind.- The Northern Kentucky University men's and women's cross country teams returned to action on Friday at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. With both team's competing in the Gold division, the men's squad placed 17th (399 points) while the women took 26th (703 points).

The Men's Gold Five Mile Race
  • Andrew Schillie was NKU's top-finisher taking 11th (11 points) with a time of 24:54.30 on the five mile trail at Burke Golf Course.
  • Michael Mangus (72nd, 25:55.50, 72 points), Alec Sandusky (87th, 26:06.20, 87 points), Ryan Burrows (95th, 26:09.70, 95 points) and Tristan Tapia (136th, 26:41.70, 134 points) rounded the Norse scoring for the race.
  • The Men's Gold Five Mile Race featured 24 teams with 150 runners on the course.
  • Utah Valley took first place with a score of 114.
 
The Women's Gold 5K
  • Hannah Tobler was the Norse top-finisher placing 89th (87 points) in a time of 18:27.80 on the 5K course.
  • Jennah Flairty (142nd, 19:02.60, 135 points), Renee Svec (159th, 19:11.00, 147 points), Natalie Lienhart (596th, 19:15.60, 151 points) and Catherine Finke (211th, 20:40.30, 183 points) rounded out the NKU scoring on the day.
  • The Women's Gold 5K Race featured 28 teams with 222 runners on the course.
  • Bradley took first place with a score of 103.
