HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Following a five-day voting period for students, fans, faculty/staff, alumni and other members of the Northern Kentucky University community, Victor E. Viking's costume will consist of Victor's original head with the redesigned body.
Approximately 7,000 individual responses were received, with 59 percent choosing the option of the original head with the new body. Thirty-four percent of respondents voted for the original suit, while seven percent voted for the new.
For the remainder of the academic calendar, NKU Athletics will utilize the original head with the new suit at all athletics and community events.
At the conclusion of the academic calendar, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will coordinate with NKU's Student Government Association and Olympus Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to recreate Victor's original head.
