@NKUNorseWBB Signing Day: Kailey Coffey

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
– Northern Kentucky women's basketball's signing day series concludes with Kentucky native Kailey Coffey, a 5-foot-10 guard out of Russell Springs.

"Kailey is an unbelievable kid," said head coach Camryn Whitaker. "She can play the three or the four position. I see her playing the three for us. Her work ethic is great. You'll hear me say that a lot about our recruits because that's what's important to us as a staff. Work ethic and motor are things that we look for. But Kailey is also skilled. She can score and get to the basket. I would classify her as more of a slasher. And she's going to be that kid that kind of holds everybody else together, so I'm really excited that she decided to join our team. She's going to be a player that everybody enjoys watching play."

Coffey is another tri-sport athlete addition to the team, playing volleyball in the fall and running track in the spring. A three-year letterwinner for the Lakers, Coffey is a member of both the Russell Springs 1,000-point and 1,000-rebound club. Going into her final season, she is already the second all-time leading scorer for the program.

Coffey earned all-state honorable mention and a three-time all-region honoree. She has averaged more than 14.0 points per season as a Laker, including an impressive 19.1 ppg and 11.9 rpg in her sophomore campaign.
