@NKUNorseWBB Signing Day: Grace White

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
– Northern Kentucky women's basketball's signing day series continues with 5-foot-9 guard Grace White, a Kentucky native from Leitchfield.

Head coach Camryn Whitaker has a longstanding history as a fellow native of the Bluegrass State and a seasoned recruiter in the state. Whitaker explained, "First and foremost, I've known Grace for a long time. She's a Kentucky kid and I think there's a lot to be said for recruiting in your home state. Obviously, everybody is important to us and our main recruiting areas are Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Grace is about a five-foot-nine guard. She brings us athleticism and length. Defensively, I think she can really get after it and hound the ball and put some pressure on it. She's got a long wingspan, so she'll get deflections. She's got a great work ethic. In high school, she scores a lot of points for them and does a little bit of everything. But I see her coming in and just being that athletic player that can really run the floor, get out and transition, get up and defend, and get us that type of energy."

White plays for Grayson County High School under head coach Roy King, and is currently the top-ranked player in the state's third region. Last season, White posted 539 points to go with 275 rebounds and 71 steals, culminating in an all-state honorable mention nod. White has been a three-year letterwinner for the Cougars and amassed 1,404 points in her first three years for Grayson County while also being well on her way to 1,000 career rebounds with 872 heading into her senior year.

NKU's signing day series continues tomorrow with Indiana signee Chyna Anthony.
