HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team announced its Horizon League schedule as well as tipoff times for its home games at the BB&T Arena for the 2015-16 season.
The League slate will open at home on Dec. 30 against Valparaiso, followed by a New Year's Day tilt against UIC. The League weekend will close out a seven-game home stand that carries the Norse through the month of December, beginning on Dec. 2 against Kentucky.
After a trio of road games at Wright State (Jan. 9), Oakland (Jan. 14) and Detroit (Jan. 16), the Norse return home for games against defending Horizon League champion Green Bay (Jan. 21) and Milwaukee (Jan. 23).
The first half of the Horizon League table closes with a pair of weekend contests at Cleveland State (Jan. 28) and Youngstown State (Jan. 30). Road games at UIC (Feb. 4) and Valparaiso (Feb. 6) open the second half and carry the Norse into another three-game home stand, hosting Wright State (Feb. 13), Detroit (Feb. 18) and Oakland (Feb. 21).
The Norse will make the Wisconsin swing to close out their road schedule at Milwaukee (Feb. 25) and Green Bay (Feb. 27) before home games against Youngstown State (March 3) and Cleveland State (March 5) close out the regular season.
The Horizon League Championship will take place March 10-13 at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. All 10 teams will compete at the same site for the first time since 2001.
Of NKU's 17 home games, 12 of them will see 7 p.m. tip times from the BB&T Arena. There are a few notable exceptions, including the season opener on Nov. 15 against Indiana State, which will begin at 1 p.m. The Nov. 21 tilt against Marquette also features a matinee start at 1 p.m.
The women will play a pair of doubleheaders with the men's team with games on Dec. 13 against West Virginia State and Dec. 19 against Akron featuring 4:30 p.m. starts.
Finally, the Norse will see a Sunday matinee on Feb. 21 against Oakland. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
