ONEONTA, N.Y.- The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team (2-2-0) fell to Bucknell (2-1-1) 1-0 in double overtime at the Hartwick College Mayor's Cup on Sunday.
In the first half, both teams battled back and forth with the Bison outshooting the Norse, 12-6. All of the NKU's six shots were on goal in the first frame.

Johannes Jansen all put a shoot on frame with Qualah taking two. Of Bucknell's 11 shots four were on goal, with NKU goalkeeper
A.J. Fleak saving three.
The second stanza was more of the same with both teams continuing to play very stingy defense. The Norse fired off three shots in the half with Jansen, Martinez and
Nick Merhaut just missing the mark on their attempts. The Bison attemped nine shots with, Fleak saving two.
In the first overtime, both teams took two shots each. Fleak came up big again for the Norse hauling in two saves to keep NKU alive. Fleak's second save of the first OT came in dramatic fashion, when he denied Bucknell's Jack Zollicoffer with a diving effort to prevent the score in the 99th minute.
Bucknell got the Golden Goal four minutes in to the second overtime. Connor Willings threw the ball in to Justin Galiani playing it Jesse Klug who finished for the game winner. The Norse took a total of 11 shots putting seven on goal, with Fleak notching seven saves on 24 shots faced. Bucknell finished the game taking 25 shots, with goalkeeper Clarke Fox recording seven saves.

Norse Notes The last time the Norse played in an overtime match was November 1, 2014, when they defeated Stetson 1-0 (2OT).
Until Bucknell's double-overtime goal, the Norse defense had held opponents scoreless in nearly 289 minutes of play since allowing a goal to Cincinnati in the final minutes of their match to open the 2015 season.
