Men's tennis falls just short at Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team saw one of its closest matches of the season, but came up just short in a hard-fought 4-3 loss at Morehead State on Tuesday afternoon.

After the Eagles (5-6) swept the doubles point, NKU's Guillaume Berman kicked singles play off with a 6-2, 6-3 win over MSU's Ji Hoon Heo in the top flight match while Morehead's Kevin Deligny picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Balint Zsiadi in the No. 6 flight, pushing the Eagle advantage to 2-1.

NKU's Pierce Kohls took the No. 2 singles match over Nathan Martin, 7-6, 6-4, while MSU's Giovanni Samaha claimed victory in the No. 3 flight over Christopher Angulo.  In the No. 4 flight, it was Andre Correa in a 6-3 third-set thriller to tie the match up before MSU's David Clifford closed it out, edging out Jody Maginley by a 6-2 score in the third set.

With the defeat, the Norse fall to 3-10 on the season.  The Norse return to action on Saturday in an Atlantic Sun Conference match against Lipscomb.
