Final NCAA Division II national poll

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team finished out its most successful season in program history ranked No. 24 in the final NCAA Division II national poll.

The Norse finished their final season of NCAA Division II play with an overall record of 16-7 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 for the first time ever.  NKU has reclassified to NCAA Division I and will compete as full members of the Atlantic Sun Conference in the 2012-13 season.

NKU entered the national poll on Feb. 29, earning a No. 44 ranking based on a 5-2 start, and consistently rose in the rankings throughout the year.  Against other nationally ranked foes NKU posted a 3-4 mark, earning victories over Lewis, Southern Indiana and regional powerhouse Northwood (Mich.).

The Norse had four individuals finish the season with 15 or more singles victories.  Andre Correa went 20-2 on the year, Tyler Fraser was 18-4, Christopher Angulo went 17-6 and Guillaume Berman claimed a 16-7 mark.
