HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Another undefeated weekend for the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team meant another jump in the national rankings, as the Norse checked in at No. 4 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday.

The Norse fought back from a 2-0 deficit to forge a 2-2 draw at Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday before shutting out Saint Joseph's, 3-0, on Sunday. The Norse are now 6-0-2 overall, 4-0-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

NKU's advance was facilitated in part by a pair of shutout losses by former No. 1 Cal State Los Angeles, which dropped out of the rankings this week.

The Colorado School of Mines assumed the No. 1 spot in the latest ranking, with Southern New Hampshire and Montevallo rounding out the top three.

The Norse have been ranked in 49 of the last 50 national polls dating back to Oct. 3, 2006.

While the Norse enjoy their national ranking, the first NCAA Division II regional poll will be released later this week. NKU is the highest ranked team in the coaches' poll among Midwest Region teams. Ashland is ranked No. 13 and Ohio Dominican debuted in this week's coaches' poll at No. 22.

NKU returns to action at home on Friday against GLVC foe Illinois-Springfield. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. The Norse wrap up the weekend on Sunday by hosting Lewis for a noon start.
