SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Northern Kentucky University women's golf team is tied for eighth place after the opening day at the NCAA Division II East Regional with a score of 331.

Lyndsey Bevill shot a first-round 75 at the par-72 Rivercut Golf Course on Sunday and is tied for third place in the individual competition. Grand Valley State leads the team standings with a score of 304.
The 54-hole tournament continues Monday. The top three squads along with the top three individuals not with a team from each regional will advance to the national championships.
The NCAA Division II Championships will be held May 12-15 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
