NKU's David Palmer (34) was named Daktronics All-MIdwest Region.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University men's basketball player
David Palmer has been selected to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team.
Palmer, a 6-foot-9 senior center from Nashville, Tenn., averaged 17.1 points per game. Palmer also led NKU in rebounding at 8.2 boards per contest, and he blocked 59 shots to rank second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Earlier this season, Palmer was named to the All-GLVC first team. He shot 54.4 percent from the field as NKU posted a 17-13 overall record. The Norse advanced to the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament.
Southern Indiana's Jamar Smith earned Midwest Region Player of the Year accolades. Smith was one of four GLVC players voted to the Midwest Region's first team.
Smith averaged 21.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest this season. He was also named the GLVC Player of the Year.
